Klaus Voormann

Voormann studied at the Meisterschule für Gestaltung design school in Hamburg and worked as a designer before meeting the Beatles in 1960. In 1964 he followed them to London and played the bass guitar with the Manfred Mann band from 1965. In 1966 Klaus Voormann designed the cover for the Beatles album Revolver, which was awarded a Grammy. More covers and posters were to follow. At the end of the 1960s Voormann was one of the founding members of John Lennon’s Plastic Ono Band. In 1979 he returned to Germany to produce records, including »Da Da Da« by a group called Trio. More recently he has published several books, which he also designed.
