As designers, borders are the tools we work with every day. The holy city of Jerusalem is full of borders- Judaism, Christianity, and Islam were all founded there, and the city receives more public attention than any other place in the world. Born and raised in Jerusalem, OPEN’s Chief Creative Officer Saar Friedman will speak about growing up in this divided place, the strong connection between borders and design, and how to break away from them. Saar and his team created a unique and ever-changing brand identity for the Mekudeshet Festival in Jerusalem- essentially dissolving all of the conventional “borders” of design.
