Letterform/Humanform

TYPO San Francisco 2015 Focus | Friday, 01 May | 2:00 pm | YBCA Theater | English

Written, drawn, incised, digitized — letters are made by and for the human body and the human mind. Their making has been heavily influenced by both human physiology and abstract thinking. This presentation will examine some of the many ways in which letterforms and humanforms have interacted in the evolution of the typefaces we currently use. The focus will be on the role of our bodies as well as our minds in the creation of the layered systems we use in contemporary typography.
