OpenType Variations in FontLab VI

In this technical talk, Yuri Yarmola, the principal engineer behind FontLab VI, will discuss how FontLab’s new flagship font editor supports OpenType Variations. He will talk about the paradigm shift from Multiple Master in FontLab Studio 5 to the GX Variations-derived interpolation model in FontLab VI, including support for arbitrary number of axes and masters, sub-axes, non-linear and anisotropic variation, and numerous convenience functionalities such as variation-enabled TrueType hinting.
