At home, in the countryside, while shopping, at work and in society in general. Scents are magical and mystical. They are a sign of animalism; they seduce, trigger emotions, channel memory and are witnesses for cultural trends. Scents are also big business. Whether it’s a “corporate aroma”, “ambience enhancement”, “wellbeing therapy”, or “beauty booster” – it’s all about managing the targeted application and performance of scents. So how do we perceive, describe and categorize emotional scent experiences? What kind of scent types and what trend dynamics are currently developing and what does the olfactory future look like? The presentation will be a look behind the scenes at the world of perfume, informed by an enormous amount of background knowledge, professional awareness and surprising insights. It’s a world that moves us more than we suspect.
