In the near future, it’s likely that your eyes will be darting from one device to the next to check the weather and traffic, and get a reminder that you’re low on milk. There is no question that screens are becoming pervasive; connecting you at-a-glance to the things that matter most. What many people never think about is how the onscreen font influences their experience. This presentation will discuss the role of type in such devices, and share results from the legibility research that Monotype and the MIT AgeLab do together.
