(Workshop) Brushpen Lettering Like a Pro

TYPO Berlin 2017 Wanderlust | Saturday, 27 May | 1:00 pm | Nest | English

This introductory workshop is for people who don’t simply want to copy from a template while brush lettering, but who are interested in the structure of the letters, and in the tools of the art. We will break a cursive alphabet down into a few basic strokes and then use them to re-construct the letters. We learn that writing script uses the same shapes over and over, lending it a harmonious rhythm, with consistent spacing between the letters arising almost automatically. Once you have mastered the formal basic shapes, you can improvise freely with the brush.

The workshop will be held in German and English.
