Brigitte Schuster

Book designers from the Netherlands

TYPO Berlin 2014 ROOTS | Friday, 16 May | 4:00 pm | Show | English

Between 2010 and 2013, Brigitte Schuster interviewed 13 well-known, contemporary book designers from the Netherlands. The interviews will now be released in an almost 300-page book which, in addition to texts, also contains coloured illustrations of the designers and their work. The selected book designers belong to different generations and have been influenced by different experiences and career paths. Some are detail-oriented typographers, while others tend to work in a more concept-oriented manner. Some of them have used the book as a platform to present themselves, while others see themselves as manual crafts(wo)men. All in all, the book – which is aimed at designers and book-lovers – gives a good insight into today’s Dutch book design scene.
