Founded the first Photosetting studio in Hamburg with his brother in 1965.

Editor in chief and publisher of »Hamburger Satzspiegel« (Hamburg Setting Mirror) since 1984. Founding member of the Context Group. Invented and carried out (four times) the Typography-Congress »Type & Typo«. Published the communication design book «Typen machen Marken mächtig« (»Type gives Brands Power«).

Since1987 owner of Adfinder, the largest international Print Advert Archive consisting of more than 1,5 Mio specimen.
