Niklaus Troxler

Trained typographer. Studied graphic design at the Lucerne School of Art and Design. Became an art director at Hollenstein Création in Paris. He has run his own graphic design studio in Willisau/Switzerland since 1973, where he has regularly organized jazz concerts since 1966, and an annual jazz festival since 1975. Prof. Troxler designs the jazz posters. In 1982 he received the Innerschweizer Kulturpreis, in 1994 he was named “Citizen of Honour” of the City of Willisau. Since 1998 he has been a professor at the State Academy of Art and Design in Stuttgart. Prof. Troxler has received a number of national and international graphic design awards. His posters are to be found in the most prestigious design collections, including at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe, Hamburg, the Museum of Design, Zurich, and the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam.
