Karlheinz Geißler was born in 1944 in Deuerling/Oberpfalz. He studied philosophy, economics and pedagogy in München. Geißler taught at vocational schools and did research and teaching work at the Universities in Karlsruhe, Augsburg and München. Since 1975 he has been a professor for economic pedagogy at the University of the German Armed Forces in München. He is also the co-initiator and head of the project “Ökologie der Zeit” (modern economy) of the Evangelische Akademie in Tutzing. The main focus of his current research is modern time patterns, time and economy, updating job training, in addition to time and culture. Karlheinz is a member of the scientific advisory board of the EXPO 2000, publisher of several books series, has been featured on numerous radio- and television shows and he has written several books and articles for leading print media.
