Born in London in 1970 and raised on a diet of Richard Scarry, Hergé, Judge Dredd and Albert Camus, James Jarvis studied Illustration at the University of Brighton and the Royal College of Art, graduating in 1995. Since then he has gone on to establish himself as a graphic artist of international repute.
Born in Edinburgh in 1987, Peter Gregson is a cellist and composer ‘working at the forefont of the new music scene’ (The New Yorker).

Petz Scholtus left Luxembourg in 2000 to study eco-design in London, trying to figure out what it’s really all about and how green she could make things. Her work took her from London to the small Tanzanian island Pemba, the Catalan capital Barcelona, the Netherlands and back to Barcelona where she is working as a freelance eco designer since 2004. Convinced that the world has enough chairs, she has s set out to designing services and experiences. Petz believes in design for people, planet and profit, connecting people and eating local food. She loves simplicity, good design and fairness, making practical and fun things, bringing people together (the more the better), travelling, speaking 5.5 languages, scuba diving, the Eden Project in Cornwall, open air parties, and her vermicompost on the balcony. She also writes for TreeHugger, lectures and organises creative events.
John Hudson is a Senior Lecturer in Graphic Design, he teaches on both undergraduate and post-graduate courses at Staffordshire and Worcester University. He holds an MA with distinction in Sustainable Graphic Communication and is currently working towards a research PhD that looks at ways to embed responsibility within design curriculum. John’s varied background includes running his own artisan bakery, old house restoration and IT consultant. He has spent the last ten years working and studying as a UK based graphic designer and lecturer.
Kirsten Dietz ist Designerin, Typografin, Fotografin, Autorin und mit ihrer Agentur Strichpunkt seit Jahren eine der erfolgreichsten Kreativen im Land. Sie studierte an der Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart, ist Mitglied im Type Directors Club New York, dem ADC Deutschland und beim D&AD London. Sie hat an zahlreichen Büchern über Design und Kommunikation mitgewirkt, darunter »The Book of Independence«, »Reporting«, »It’s a Boy, It’s a Girl« und zuletzt »Good Design is a Tough Job«. In den letzten 10 Jahren sammelte Strichpunkt über 500 internationale Auszeichnungen ein sowie den Titel »Beste Agentur des Jahrzehnts«.
Nina Stössinger ist Grafikdesignerin mit Schwerpunkt Schrift und Typografie. Von Text und Webdesign her kommend, entdeckte sie im Studium an der Burg Giebichenstein HKD Halle ihre Liebe zur Schrift. Nach dem Abschluss des Nachdiplomkurses Schriftgestaltung an der ZHdK Zürich gründete sie 2008 eigenes Studio in Basel. Nachts und nebenbei arbeitet sie an eigenen (Schrift-)Projekten und veröffentlicht 2011 mit FF Ernestine ihre erste Schriftfamilie.
Jan Teunen, 1950 geboren, um zu dienen, Bedeutung zu kreieren und Unterschiede zu machen. Kümmert sich bei Unternehmen um alles, was nicht auf der Bilanz steht: um Werte, Wissen, Wirken. Hilft Unternehmen sich zu kultivieren, meistens als Arbeiter und Werkzeug.
Susanne Zippel kehrte 2011 nach fünf Jahren aus China zurück, in den 90er Jahren lebte sie schon einmal fünf Jahre lang in Japan. In China entstand nun ihr Buch »Fachchinesisch Typografie«, das sich – wie der Titel schon assoziiert – mit dem Chinesischen beschäftigt.
