I hope you had a chance to visit the $1/MINUTE participatory creative workshop set up by Ana Llorente & Davey Whitcraft of Strangeways Academy. Throughout the past two days, conference attendees had the opportunity to place requests (and name their price) for projects that were fulfilled by the workshop directors and rotating guest creatives – open to anyone who wanted to participate.
The rumors were true, the Tattly randomizer made its way to TYPO this year.
TYPO San Francisco will be kicking off today. There will be live streaming of selected talks starting with the opening speech by Maria Popova, The Science of Productivity and the Art of Presence.
Programme director Jürgen Siebert spoke to Creative Bloq about the DNA of TYPO Berlin, how it all started in the mid 1990s, the evolution of typografic stars like Neville Brody, David Carson or Stefan Sagmeister and how the upcoming TYPO conference will take a look at the roots of success in design today.
FontFont welcomes FF Antithesis to their extensive catalog of fonts! Based on the design principle of three poles, FF Antithesis is designed around the tension and dialogue between each of these. There are three members of the display family: Regular, Italic and Bold of which all relate to each other in a very high visual contrast.
We’re excited to announce that the Tattly Randomizer will be at TYPO SF 2014! What is the Tattly Randomizer, you ask? Imagine the mini vending machines that would take your quarters and spit out a random temporary tattoo when you were a kid. Now, replace the cheesy designs you remember with creative, “designy” illustrations and images, and you have the Tattly Randomizer!
Er ist der einflussreichste Typedesign-Lehrer unserer Zeit: Gerrit Noordzij (82). Von 1960 bis 1990 war er Professor für Schriftdesign an der Königlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Den Haag, wo er bedeutende Schriftentwerfer direkt oder indirekt prägte, darunter Petr und Erik van Blokland, Jelle Bosma, Albert Jan Pool, Peter Verheul, Rudy Vanderlans, Just van Rossum, Albert Pinggera, Martin Wenzel, Frank Blokland, Luc(as) de Groot, Peter Matthias Noordzij, Hannes Famira und viele mehr. Auch die Werke der jüngsten Typedesign-Generation basieren auf den Theorien von Noordzij, zum Beispiel bei Ján Filípek, Martina Flor, Frank Grießhammer, Slávka Pauliková, Yanone und Alexander Roth.
TYPO wouldn’t have the same rhythm without our amazing volunteers. Each year we are lucky to welcome 60-70 individuals to our TYPO SF volunteer crew that are as excited as we are to make your conference experience everything you’ve come to expect from TYPO SF.
Die TYPO Berlin bekommt endlich ein neues Gesicht zum Thema Roots! Unsere Freunde und langjährige TYPO-Designer Studio Adhoc entwickelten das neue Design.
