Roel Nieskens

Roel Nieskens is a front-end developer, font-hacker and “color font guy” working at Kabisa in Weert, the Netherlands.
He started building sites during the browser wars of the late 1990s, and got interested in typography when custom fonts became available to browsers in 2009. Since then he explored web font performance, browser bugs and inconsistencies and OpenType feature support on the web.
Besides his interest in the upcoming OpenType Variation fonts, he is an expert on all things color fonts and collaborated with Mark van Wageningen of Novo Typo on the Bixa project.
