1) Wo findet die TYPO Berlin in diesem Jahr statt?
Wie jedes Jahr sind wir im Haus der Kulturen der Welt, mitten im Tiergarten, im Regierungsviertel und gegenüber vom Hauptbahnhof. Der 100er Bus hält direkt vor dem Konferenzgebäude, vom Hauptbahnhof sind es 10 Minuten zu Fuß. Eine Call a Bike Station ist direkt am Haus.
2) Wo bekomme ich meinen Konferenzausweis?
Die Ticketausgabe findet im 1. Stock des HKW statt. Die Registrierung startet am Donnerstag um 10 Uhr. Gegen Vorlage deiner Registrierungsbestätigung (und ggf. Studentenbescheinigung) bekommst du dein TYPO Berlin Ticket. Komm rechtzeitig um lange Schlangen zu vermeiden. Mit deinem Ticket bekommst du auch unsere schicke Konferenztasche mit Goodies und dem Programmheft.
3) Einige Vorträge sind auf Englisch. Aber Englisch kann ich nicht so gut.
Die Vorträge in der TYPO Hall und TYPO Show werden von professionellen Dolmetschern simultan übersetzt. Von Deutsch nach Englisch oder von Englisch nach Deutsch. Du findest die Kopfhörerausgabe für die Übersetzung im 1. Stock neben der Gaderobe/Registrierung.
4) Wow, es gibt 4 Bühnen gleichzeitig?
Ja! Und damit du nichts verpasst, werden die Vorträge von TYPO Hall und TYPO Show aufgezeichnet. Du kannst dir dann, als TYPO Berlin-Teilnehmer, in unserem Videoarchiv ansehen. Dafür benötigst du einen MyTYPO-Account. Die Registrierung dafür hast du während deiner Ticketbuchung per Mail bekommen.
5) Wie kann ich Workshops buchen?
Gar nicht! Alle Workshops kannst du mit deinem TYPO Ticket gratis besuchen. Plätze sind limitiert, es gilt: First come, first served. Die Workshops finden im Foyer und im „Nest“ statt.
6) Gibt es WLAN während der Konferenz?
Natürlich! Verbinde dich einfach mit dem Netzwerk Typo2016.
7) Kann ich das Programm, das in den Taschen sein wird, schon jetzt irgendwie bekommen?
Für dein persönliches Programm kannst du dir entweder das Programmheft herunterladen, ausdrucken, anmalen, ausmalen, schneiden, kleben, …. ODER du benutzt unsere MySchedule-Funktion unserer Website. Log dich bei MyTYPO ein, die Registrierung dafür hast du während des Ticket-Bestellvorgangs per Mail bekommen. Gehe in der MyTYPO-Übersicht auf MySchedule und herze Vorträge. Diese werden dir dann ausschließlich angezeigt. So kannst du dir dein eigenes Programm erstellen.
8) Was sollen die bunten Striche im Programm?
Wir haben die Vorträge dieses Jahr nach Farben sortiert. Das ermöglicht dir, schneller zu erkennen, welchen Vortrag du dir ansiehst. Es gibt folgende Kategorien: Creation (die Macher), Innovation (Innovationen, Technisches, Vordenker), Reflection (Gedanken, Erkenntnisse, Philosophisches, Soziales), Typography (Typografie, was sonst!) und Know-how (Wissenswertes, Workshops).
9) Wann fängt die Konferenz an?
Die ersten Vorträge auf der TYPO starten am Donnerstag um 14 Uhr, Freitag und Samstag um 10 Uhr. Die letzten Vorträge enden um 20 bzw. 21 Uhr.
10) Die TYPO geht über den ganzen Tag. Wo bekomme ich etwas zu essen?
Damit du nicht den weiten Weg zu den nächsten Verpflegunsgpunkten in der Stadt machen musst, sind Mittagessen Freitag und Samstag und Kaffee an allen Tagen inklusive. Auf deinem Ticket steht die empfohlenen Zeit für deine Mittagspause. Wir haben zwei Zeiten, damit es etwas zügiger geht. Das Mittagessen wird im Restaurant Auster serviert, die Kaffeepause findet bei gutem Wetter auf der Dachterrasse statt. In der übrigen Zeit stehen dir das Restaurant Auster und Café Global zur Verfügung, allerdings zum Restaurantpreis.
11) Gibt es Abendveranstaltung zur TYPO?

1) Where does TYPO Berlin take place this year?
TYPO Berlin takes place at House of World Cultures (HKW), which is located right next to the Federal Chancellor’s Office, in the middle of Tiergarten and opposite the main train station Hauptbahnhof. The bus line 100 stops in front of the conference center, the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) is a 10 minute walk away.
2) Where do I get my conference badge?
The ticketing takes place on the 1st floor of the House of World Cultures. On presentation of your registration confirmation (and student id when you bought a student ticket) you get your TYPO Berlin badge. Registration will start on Thursday at 10 clock. Come on time to avoid long queues. With your ticket you also get our cool conference bag with goodies and the printed program.
3) Some lectures are in German. But I don’t speak any German at all.
The presentations on TYPO Hall and TYPO Show will be simultaneously translated by professional interpreters. From German to English or from English to German. You’ll find the headphones for the translation on the 1st floor next to the wardrobe / registration.
4) Wow, there are 4 stages at the same time?
Yes! And the talks of TYPO Hall and TYPO Show will be recorded so that you don’t miss anything. You can then later watch these, as a TYPO attendee, in our new video archive. Log in with MyTYPO. The registration for MyTYPO was sent to you during ticket registration by mail.
5) How do I book a workshop?
Not at all! All workshops are free to visit with a TYPO ticket. Places are limited: First come, first served. The workshops will take place in the foyer and in the “Nest”.
6) Is there Wifi at the conference?
Of course! Simply connect with Typo2016.
7) Can I get the program, that will be in the bags, earlier somehow?
For your personal program you can either download the program brochure, cut it, paint it, color it, glue it …. or you use our MySchedule function on our website. Log into MyTYPO, the registration was sent to you during the registration process by e-mail. Go onto MySchedule in the MySchedule overview and heart talks. Those will be then displayed = your individual program!
8) What are these colorful marks in the program overview?
This year we have sorted the lectures by color. This will enable you to quickly identify what presentation to look at. The categories are: Creation (the makers & doers), Innovation (innovations, technical trends, thinkers), Reflection (thoughts, insights, philosophical, social), Typography (typography, what else!) and know-how (workshops).
9) When does the conference start?
The first talks at TYPO start on Thursday, 2 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m. The last talks will end at 8/9 p.m.
10) TYPO goes throughout the whole day. Where can I get something to eat?
You don’t have to make the long journey to the next snack bar in the city. Lunch on Friday and Saturday and coffee on all three days is included. Find the lunch break time on your ticket. Lunch is served in the restaurant Auster, the coffee break will be held on the roof terrace when good weather. During the whole conference the Restaurant Auster and Café Global are available for food and drinks at restaurant cost.
