The top arguments

Talk Talk

The TYPO speakers are groundbreaking designers, artists, academics, publishers and consultants. They will present current topics as well as new trends and developments and discuss them with visitors. Newcomers and established stars in their fields present their ideas and projects in lectures, panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions, Q&A sessions and performances.

TYPO Videos
TYPO lectures will be recorded. Registered visitors have access to those recordings after they’ve been processed, so that you can catch up on talks you may have missed. All you need is a MyTYPO account, which you can set up when you register online.

Workshops
If you’re at loose ends between lectures, our workshops are there to help. From the basics of calligraphy to printing techniques or sign painting … the selection is vast. All workshops are included in the ticket price. Find out soon what we have planned for 2015!

Professional Hook-ups
TYPO is where the design scene meets and greets. In addition to lunch and coffee breaks, there are a variety of evening events and parties, where you can meet participants and speakers. The culmination of it all is TYPO Night on Saturday, a final celebration held at a prominent venue in Berlin.

Relish the Big City
Stroll around the galleries in the chic Mitte district, check out the urban art in Friedrichshain or make a night-time foray through the bars and clubs in Neukölln. Whatever your fancy, TYPO guarantees three incomparable days in Europe’s creative capital.

What else?
What else is included in the TYPO ticket? Simultaneous translation in the TYPO hall and show, lunch and coffee set-ups, a welcome bag with useful information and tools, free WiFi … and much more.

What distinguishes good design from bad design? What distinguishes a successful brand from a less successful one? When is a campaign considered successful? It’s not easy to be successful and high profile. What counts are character and expertise. TYPO conferences are there to help you bolster your practices and skills. And TYPO Berlin 2015 “Character” will be no exception …

About the conference

TYPO Berlin features presentations by pioneering graphic designers, illustrators, photographers, Internet experts, artists, academics, journalists and many others. A wide variety of approaches to communication and design will be on display and open to discussion. TYPO is a source of inspiration, practical tips and insight into experimental approaches; the conference fosters an exchange of know-how and provides a creative playground. A conference by designers for designers. With 1500 participants each year, it has been the largest graphic design conference in Europe for 19 years.

There will be more than 50 lectures and panels on four stages. Yes, FOUR! We added another stage to this year’s programme. Over the course of the conference, you can join several workshops (included), explore the vast exhibition spaces or browse the bookshop.

Legendary notes from previous years

We printed with Erik Spiekermann and cycled with him through London and Berlin. In 2008, a real eagle flew through the TYPO hall, which was as exciting for us as for the participants.

Each year has its high spots: Performances, concerts or live painting events. Just wait and see what we have planned for TYPO Berlin 2015.
