TYPO Talks: What attracted you to TYPO SF?
Heather Braxton: I came to TYPO SF last year for the first time by some miracle a spot opened and I jumped on it because it sounded fun, I knew a couple of the speakers work and through school funding it was very very cheap. I think TYPO SF is a wonderful experience and opportunity for students and I can only hope that our group gets out of it what I did last year and will this year.
TT: What was your favorite part of the experience? What are you most excited about?
HB: Coming to TYPO SF Contrast flipped a switch for me, EVERYTHING was exciting from opening to closing! Graphic Design is my second major to Photography and it is something I have always been passionate about, however I felt as if I could never really find anyone that I could describe as “the most excited” about design and typography before coming to TYPO.
TT: What gets your creative rhythm going?
HB: Passion is what gets my creative rhythm flowing and sustaining, I have so much of it and there’s literally no better feeling then sharing passion with other people!
TT: Which of our speakers are you most looking forward to?
HB: I am probably looking forward to Lisa Congdon and Gemma O’Brien speaking because I have been working and will continue working on research of women in the typography/design world and both of them are in that group.
TT: Do you have any current projects you or your group is working on that you would like to share?
HB: I was assigned Lisa Congdon for a Communication Design class and had to make a poster in her style of a classical composer.
TT: That project, as well as others from the WCSU Graphic Design Club, are below!
