Which work are you particularly proud of? Which work best represents your style or approach?
Probably the design of the Dutch post stamps, which is both the smallest and biggest project I’ve made so far, where more than 140 million copies where produced.
What inspires you?
Everything: places, people, nature … It is important to just pay attention to situations where one happens to be.
Which character/letter would you take to a deserted island?
I don’t think I would take any character/letter to a deserted island.
TYPO Berlin 2011: What are you especially looking forward to?
It is the first time I will be speaking there, so I am very open and excited to experience the event.
For TYPO-veterans: Your favorite TYPO-moment?
It is my first one.
Required reading: What are currently your favorite interesting/beautiful publications, books and links?
I am not a big fan of comics book, but ‘Understanding Comics’ from Scott McCloud is an illuminating book for me at the moment. We just published also the book ‘158 answers’, an interview book with typographers and type designers, and I reread it again. Enjoyable reading.
