Louise Sandhaus is the former Director and current faculty in the Graphic Design Program at California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). Her book, Earthquakes, Mudslides, Fires & Riots: California and Graphic Design 1936–1986, was recently published by Metropolis (U.S.) and Thames & Hudson (U.K.) Her design office, LSD (Louise Sandhaus Design), partnering with other designers and teams, has designed and curated museum exhibitions on California design, art, and artifacts for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, UCLA Hammer Museum, and Los Angeles Natural History Museum among others.
