Nikolaus Netzer

Designerer, Photographer, Author (Berlin)

A designer, photographer and writer, Netzer studied industrial design at Berlin’s University of the Arts. He worked for various ad agencies and designers, and founded Sommerfeldt & Netzer in 1992; the agency’s focus is graphic and product design, and 3D visualisation.

He has authored articles for numerous trade publications such as Macwelt, iPadWelt, MACup, Digital Production, Creative Live and Page. He is a frequent guest on expert panels discussing digital media production, including the Animago Award Conference, the Maxon User Meeting, at Open Web Space or at the SAE Alumni Convention.

In 1998, Netzer began teaching three-dimensional and Cinema 4D design at the college of communication and design of the Design Dkademie Berlin, with a focus on visualisation techniques for packaging and product design.

Since 2015, he has also taught in the photography department – stereoscopy processes, image-based lighting and HDR imaging, as well as the production of virtual reality content.
