Emily Dubin: It’s going to be a great opportunity for our design department to attend as a group, to get out of our regular work environment and spend two days learning and connecting with other design professionals.
TT: Have you been to TYPO SF before? If not, what are you most excited about?
ED: No, this will be my first time attending. I’m excited about the diverse range of speakers.
TT: What gets your creative rhythm going?
ED: Vintage ephemera, books, and art museums.
TT: Which of our speakers are you most looking forward to?
ED: I’ve seen Aaron Draplin work his magic on-stage and it’s just so much fun. Also looking forward to Victor Moscoso and Maria Popova.
TT: Do you have any current projects you or your group is working on that you would like to share?
ED: I’m excited about the release of Mixtape Greetings, a recent project I worked on. It’s a set of notecards illustrated and die-cut to look like cassette tapes. They come in a box that looks like a walkman and include sticker labels like blank tapes, to personalize your card. As a child of the 80s, it was a fun, nostalgia-fueled design process.
TT: Check out Mixtape Greetings below, and click through to see the beautiful products that Chronicle Books has to offer.
