About the speaker

Michael Johnson

Michael Johnson runs johnson banks, which has long had an interest in branding the 4c’s – cities, countries, culture and charities. He’s worked on many projects for the British Government, art centres in Philadelphia and Paris, a space observatory in Japan and bilingual typeface in China. In London, he’s just done the Science Museum and his first airline, Virgin Atlantic. Johnson banks branded London’s inward investment arm »Think London«, and writes and lectures worldwide on identity issues. He has won most.

Guitars and graphics

TYPO Berlin 2013, 18.05.2013, 18:00 Uhr (Hall)

Part speech, part performance, part theatre, in thirty minutes Michael Johnson explores 100 years of graphic design and 100 years of guitar playing. Do the two things ever combine and create art and music that we’ve never heard before? With two guitars, an amp, a large pedal-board and a computer this talk mixes design, history and music in a completely different way. It could be great. (It could also be a train wreck).
